Stuart Lester is a Managing Associate in the Intellectual Property department and leads the firm's Advertising & Marketing group.

He focuses on all aspects of IP and brand protection, offering strategic IP advice on trade marks, passing off, copyright, and designs. His practice encompasses clearance, filing, monitoring, enforcement, and portfolio management. Stuart has extensive experience managing trade mark and design disputes at the UKIPO and EUIPO, as well as in Court, and addressing online enforcement challenges, including takedowns and domain name complaints (DRS and UDRP) at Nominet and WIPO, and company name complaints at the Company Names Tribunal.

In the field of advertising and marketing law, Stuart provides brands with clearance advice on legal and regulatory issues related to advertising and sales promotion campaigns in the UK and internationally. This includes navigating advertising regulation, intellectual property, consumer and gambling laws. He has supported numerous brands with issues of misleading and comparative advertising, among other advertising concerns. Stuart has extensive experience advising on compliance with the CAP and BCAP Codes and has a track record of successfully prosecuting and defending complaints at the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), including through independent review.

Stuart works with clients across a number of industries including betting and gaming, media and entertainment, finance, retail, social media and sport.
