Mishcon de Reya boosts Disputes offering with Partner hire

Mishcon de Reya has announced that Mark Whelan has joined its Dispute Resolution team as a Partner in its London office.  

Mark specialises in substantial multi-jurisdictional disputes, principally for clients in the financial services sector, but also in commodities, energy and property, and has particular expertise advising on complex insolvency matters.  

His clients include brokers, banks, entrepreneurs, hedge funds, HNW individuals, and insolvency practitioners. Mark has had a number of high profile cases including Sevilleja v Marex Financial Ltd [2020] UKSC 31, one of the most significant company and commercial law decisions of the last thirty years. He has acted for clients in a variety of cases before the Court of Appeal, High Court, in arbitrations and before courts in numerous other jurisdictions.   

Mark joins from RBG plc where he was a partner. Prior to this, he was a Partner and Head of Litigation at Memery Crystal which was acquired by RBG in 2021.
