Some months ago, when Britain faced the deadline of 29 March and soon after, 12 April, we expected this latest issue to be fully dedicated to Brexit. Given the ever-moving deadline, you may be relieved and delighted to hear that in this issue we shall not be covering Brexit at all.
Instead, we recognise the achievements of professional women around the world, through some of the events we organised and took part in during Women's History Month (March). We turn to Nigeria: we were delighted to participate in the Ministry of Justice's legal services trade mission to Lagos. As a continent, Africa is an important regional focus for our firm and we look forward to further strengthening our work in Nigeria. We focus on digital - we look at big brands and their increasing interest in esports; our Blockchain Group considered the convergence of emerging technologies at a recent EU Blockchain Observatory Forum; and our MDR Cyber team analyses the impact of increased digitalisation on the global maritime industry. Our MDR Brand Management business announces its appointment to advise 'eve sleep' on brand extension and we flag the inaugural London International Disputes Week happening from 7 to 10 May 2019, of which Mishcon are a founding member.
Finally, we celebrate Mishcon's success at the Luxury Law Awards with the firm winning Global Luxury Law Firm of the Year, and our ranking as one of 2019 eprivateclient Top UK Law Firms for our client services to individuals and families who are based both in the UK and overseas.
