The Centre for Computing History is one of Cambridge’s hidden gems. Set up in 2009 as a museum and educational charity, it provides interactive displays, coding workshops and opportunities to explore how these powerful devices became an inextricable part of our lives and changed our world, in just 80 years!
From 26 April, we will be marking 40 years of the Arm 1 chip: a revolutionary design created here in Cambridge, which most likely powers the smartphone in your pocket – plus billions of other devices all over the world. We’re passionate about inspiring the next generation of tech innovators. And if that doesn’t grab your attention, our popular gaming area offers classic titles on original consoles, from the Atari 2600 to the Sega Mega Drive.
