Disputes Essentials: Crisis Control: Navigating Government Investigations with Confidence

DateTimeIn-Person

Whether it arises from a self-report, the media, a whistleblower or a thematic review by a regulator, facing an investigation by a government agency can be a daunting prospect for any company. Such investigations can have a significant impact on a business from a financial, reputational and operational perspective.

In our next Disputes Essentials session, our panel of legal experts from our White-Collar Crime & Investigations, Contentious Regulatory & Enforcement and Competition teams will provide key insights on how to deal with an investigation by a government agency including working towards an acceptable resolution. Some of the topics that we shall cover in the seminar include:

  • To self report or not.
  • Initial response to an investigation.
  • Use of compelled powers by government agencies.
  • When/how to cooperate during an investigation.
  • Multi-jurisdictional investigations.
  • Potential resolutions - including settlements, deferred prosecution agreements and possible sanctions.
