Speaking about changes in the profession over her career Johanna said:
"The wider investigation landscape for financial crime and misconduct has changed enormously over my career and for a number of reasons, including the introduction of compliance-based offences and defences, greater enforcement engagement with corporate misconduct, and increased regulation in other areas, such as anti-money laundering, for both corporates and individuals. A significant number of enforcement authorities and regulators now police this area: it was predominantly the role of the Serious Fraud Office in the UK when I began my career. These same changes have also prompted more self-investigation by corporates. Today, I engage with a far wider range of enforcement authorities and regulators in relation to a wider range of issues."
