Mishcon de Reya has advised high-end residential estate agency Rokstone on its merger with UK Sotheby's International Realty. The confirmation of this tie-up follows months of speculation about the deal, which has significant implications for the high-end luxury real estate market.
Rokstone was founded by Becky Fatemi in 2011 and has brokered over £8 billion worth of sales. The merger will drive growth for UK Sotheby's International Realty, who sought a skilled and reputable Partner that could take their residential offerings to a new level.
The partnership will also see UK Sotheby's International Realty support Becky Fatemi's charitable foundation, Shadow to Shine which offers mentoring, work experience and employability skills training to young adults aged between 16 and 30.
Simon Chadowitz commented: "We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with Becky and Rokstone, and to have advised on this significant merger between two of the industry's major players. Becky is a true visionary in the London property market, and we look forward to seeing what Rokstone and Sotheby's International Realty will achieve together in the months and years to come. Mishcon de Reya has developed a market-leading practice in high-end residential and estate agency M&A transactions, and our involvement in this deal underlines our expertise and commitment to advising the market's most innovative and ambitious players."
Becky Fatemi added: "It was invaluable to have the guidance, support and insight of Simon and the broader Mishcon team throughout this merger. Simon is a trusted advisor to both myself and Rokstone; he and his team go beyond their legal advisory role and provide an expert level of commercial skill and insight."
The Mishcon de Reya team was led by Simon Chadowitz (Partner, Real Estate) and Dean Poster (Partner, Corporate), with assistance from Emma Webb (Associate, Corporate) and Karine Bashardust (Associate, Corporate).
