Mishcon de Reya has today announced that eight individuals have been promoted to Junior Equity Partner or Equity Partner in its latest round of promotions.
A further 10 people are promoted to Of Counsel.

Equity Partner
Hong Chong Yi
Hong Chong Yi is in the Singapore Transactional team, advising on transactional maritime and aviation matters. Chong Yi has worked on some of the region's largest project vessel and conventional vessel fleet financings and represents aircraft lessors on aircraft fleet and engine acquisitions, financings and lease novations. He is also a corporate specialist, advising on everyday corporate and commercial legal issues, including M&A and fundraising transactions.
Junior Equity Partner
Katy Colton
Katy is part of Mishcon Private and is the Head of the Politics and Law Group. Katy specialises in political disputes, public law, and commercial litigation. She has also advised politicians, activists, NGOs and charities in relation to complex, often high profile, contentious matters engaging issues of equality, administrative law, human rights and international justice.
Henrietta Garner
Henrietta is a member of the Real Estate department and specialises in commercial property work. She advises clients on a range of issues including the acquisition and disposal of investment property, lease negotiations, asset management matters and real estate support for corporate transactions. Henrietta also acts in real estate finance transactions, providing real estate support and advising on the financial aspects.
Kerstin Morgan
Kerstin Morgan is Head of Practice Transformation in the Strategy team. Kerstin works closely with fee earners as well as legal and business operations teams to identify opportunities to improve the firm's legal processes and innovate service delivery. Working with the MDR LAB and Data Science teams, Kerstin's team drives the use of legal tech across Mishcon de Reya.
Chris Neilson
Chris is part of the Insurance Disputes practice. He specialises in complex commercial disputes, with a focus on insurance disputes, acting both for and against insurers and reinsurers. Chris' experience covers sectors including construction, property, power generation, professional indemnity and technology. He has advised clients in numerous jurisdictions and has litigated claims before the English courts and in arbitration.
James Rees
James is a member of the Family department. He advises clients in all aspects of financial remedies, including high value financial disputes with complex financial issues and jurisdictional disputes. He deals with pre-nuptial, post-nuptial, cohabitation, separation and civil partnership agreements. James also has extensive experience of private law children matters, including applications for leave to remove children from and within the jurisdiction.
Philippa Rees
Philippa is a Professional Support Lawyer with the Dispute Resolution department. She specialises in substantial corporate and commercial fraud cases, often with a multi-jurisdictional element. Her forte is claims involving diversion of business opportunities and breach of fiduciary duty and obtaining injunctive relief including freezing orders and multi-site search orders. She is also experienced in general commercial disputes, including partnership and contractual disputes.
Todd Wu
Todd is part of the Commercial Real Estate team and specialises in high value real estate investment and complex development transactions. He has a particular expertise in development schemes transacted on a forward funding or forward purchase basis, having acted on numerous high value projects across the build to rent, purpose built student accommodation, logistics and office sectors.
