Mishcon de Reya is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Driscoll, an experienced US-qualified corporate transactional lawyer, as a new partner in the firm's emerging companies and venture capital practice.
Chris has an extensive track record of representing entrepreneurs, startups, scale-ups, and investors on US matters. He has worked extensively with founders and boards of directors on all aspects of the business lifecycle, including formation, equity and debt financings, secondary sales, public offerings and M&A transactions, as well as corporate governance, commercial agreements, employment and IP matters.
His professional background includes experience in private practice in the New York, Silicon Valley and London offices of some of the most pre-eminent US venture capital firms. More recently, Chris led the legal function of the corporate venture capital arm of a FTSE100 company and established Hatch, a UK-based firm that advises a number of UK and US-based emerging companies, as well as investors, on commercial and corporate matters.
"We are very happy to be welcoming Chris to our team," said Chris Keen, head of the firm's Emerging Companies team. "The growth journey of many of our clients involves doing business in the US – whether establishing local operations, raising funding from US investors, or ultimately exiting to a buyer located there. Our goal has always been to provide clients with the support that they need from day zero through to the attainment of whatever their ultimate ambitions for the business may be. With Chris' expertise on these matters, delivered from London and in time zone with our UK and European clients, we are now even better set up to do that."
Chris Driscoll commented, “I am delighted to have joined Mishcon de Reya as a partner in their top-tier emerging companies and venture capital team. The team is widely recognised as one of the leading corporate teams in the City and I am looking forward to supporting their entrepreneurial clients, and in particular those who are looking to the US as part of their growth plans."
