News that Mishcon de Reya is recruiting for a GPT Legal Prompt Engineer has been featured in the media.
Over the last two years, Mishcon de Reya has been experimenting with the use of neurolinguistic programming (NLP) models and other artificial intelligence technologies. The firm is now looking to engage a dedicated engineer to explore how generative AI can be used within a law firm, including its application to legal practice tasks and wider law firm business tasks.
Nick West, Partner and Chief Strategy Officer, spoke to Legal Cheek about the potential of this pioneering role and said: “GPT3, and other generative AI models are going to be deeply impactful, therefore we want to make sure that we bring in more expertise in how to use the technology so that we can be at the forefront of using these tools.”
“New technologies don’t come along perfectly formed, you have to work with them and you have to learn how to work with them. So we want to find someone who can twin knowledge of the law with deep knowledge and expertise of these models.”
