Introducing… 'Inside Oxford', our latest publication that shines a spotlight on one of the world's most renowned cities.

'Curiouser and Curiouser' said Alice. (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll, Oxford)

Oxford is, and has always been, a place for the curious. Those that question, push boundaries and drive change.

We have two world-class universities (and shortly the Ellison Institute): home to scholars from around the world whose curiosity is seeking to find the answers to the world's biggest challenges. Our science parks, with their world class facilities and internationally dynamic workforce, is where curious endeavour and innovation is putting Oxford at the cutting edge of scientific discovery.

We have a rich seam of the creatively curious: Actors, musicians, designers, authors, film directors, music producers and artists can all be found in the city and surrounding areas. It's where the creators of Narnia, Wonderland, Hobbits, Dark Materials and even The Grinch walked past dreaming spires and actors such as Hugh Grant, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Rowan Atkinson were curious enough to take their tentative first steps onto stage and screen.

From Formula one and Formula E teams on our doorstep to Oxfam, the one thread that underpins them is arguably a curiosity on how to make things better, how to deliver change.

Oxford is a natural home for Mishcon. We offer a relentless curiosity for our clients' business and personal objectives, and a passion for finding new ways to help them meet their goals. We have an innate understanding of what drives those creating new ideas, because that's what we are doing within our own business every day.

Our publication is aimed at the curious. This edition features Irene Tracey, the Vice Chancellor of Oxford University, as part of our Oxford+ podcast series, offering a deep dive into the university's innovation landscape. We also spotlight Hugh Tebay, a partner at Mishcon de Reya with specialist expertise in the commercialisation of intellectual property rights and IP strategy.

Inside Oxford takes a closer look at Daniel Gray's AI in the Workplace series, which examines the transformative effects of artificial intelligence across industries, while James Boyle and Emily Francis tackle the intricate challenges and legal considerations surrounding anonymisation in the life sciences sector.

We hope that you enjoy our first edition's collection of insights, articles and features on all things Oxford. Join us next quarter for the next issue of 'Inside Oxford'.
