Earlier this year, Managing Associate Katy Colton was named in The Lawyer Hot 100. She was recognised for her appointment as Head of the Politics & Law Group and for her involvement in Gina Miller's successful judicial review claim against the Government, and more recently her support to the Jewish Labour Movement in relation to the EHRC’s investigation into anti-Semitism within the Labour Party.
In a follow up career quiz, she talks to The Lawyer about the most influential person in her career, what advice she would give to those beginning their careers in law and the most vivid memory from being a trainee:
"I was told early in my career by my mentoring partner that a career is long, and I should not try to rush to get to where I wanted to end up. I think about this often. You cannot plan your whole career out, as you do not know what the next case you will be working on will be and where it will take you in relation to experience, client contacts and learning points. This has given me great perspective as I move forward in my career and develop my practice."
