Shenaz is an Associate in the Insurance Disputes practice, with a particular focus on insurance disputes and commercial litigation.
She has experience advising policyholders and acting on business interruption, political risk and professional indemnity coverage issues. Her commercial practice experience includes ESG disputes, group actions and contractual and tortious claims.
Shenaz is involved in legal technology and litigation funding initiatives at the firm, as well as the Hispanic and Lusophone desk. Externally she is a member of the London Solicitor Litigation Association and the British Insurance Law Association.
Key Experience
- Acting for the Hiscox Action Group both in the FCA test case on Covid-19 related BI claims, and also in parallel arbitration proceedings against Hiscox.
- Acting for a multinational energy company seeking to recover £500m under its political risk insurance programme as regards expropriation of its assets in Colombia.
- Acting on behalf of the Rohingya people in a group action brought against Facebook
- Acting on behalf of black cab drivers in a group action brought against Uber
- Acting for a former CEO on D&O coverage issues and in relation to an independent inquiry
- Acting in a large group action brought by claimants in the High Court in England for breach of confidentiality and misuse of their private information.
