Filippo Noseda has appeared for the second time in the European Parliament to discuss FATCA implications. He discussed the incompatibility of FATCA with the EU fundamental rights of data protection and privacy and presented evidence that the European Commission might have misled the European Parliament.
Filippo said "It's clear that FATCA breaches EU Law – Internal documents show that Commission itself raised 'worrying' data protection issues and discussed them with the US authorities. These documents also show that the Commission misled the European Parliament about the existence of a dialogue with the US authorities and its data protection concerns concerning FATCA".
Filippo first appeared before the European Parliament in November 2019, when he made a presentation on 'Strategic FATCA Litigation' as part of the FATCA campaign brought by a client of the firm, a US-born British citizen known as Jenny.
