On 30 November 2023, the International Fraud Group hosted its first London conference.
The IFG Flagship Fraud Event was organised by Mishcon de Reya and sponsored by K2 Integrity, Central Associates, Conflict International and Secretariat.
Over 120 people attended the conference including IFG members, fraud lawyers, forensic accountants, investigator, insolvency practitioners and more.
Gary Miller, Chairman of the IFG, opened the conference and introduced the first keynote speaker, Dr Mark Freestone, Reader of Mental Health at Queen Mary University of London, who delivered a fascinating speech on Psychopaths: Fraud, Collusion and Complicity.
Adam Wagner, a Barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, delivered the second keynote speech of the day on the restriction of certain freedoms during the pandemic.
The event featured four fraud-related panel discussions, which were: how the arbitration in handles fraud claims chaired by Greg Falkof; whether whistleblowers should be financially rewarded chaired by Alison Geary; the latest developments in cryptocurrency fraud hosted in collaboration with CFAAR and chaired by Rhymal Persad; and if artificial intelligence is harmful or a force for good chaired by Gary Miller.
The IFG's global footprint continues to expand with over 45 member firms across 55 jurisdictions.
