Mishcon de Reya has advised Ealing Studios Operations Limited on the strategic approach to the redevelopment of Ealing Studios, the oldest continuously working studio facility for film production in the world.
The site of Ealing Studios has a proud heritage and historic legacy. It comprises Grade II listed buildings which opened in 1931 and continues to host the best of British film and TV productions today, including Bridget Jones’s Diary, St Trinian’s and The Theory of Everything.
The prompt completion of the planning agreement resulted in a decision being issued in December 2022 allowing the development programme to commence without delay.
The redevelopment will stimulate significant investment into Ealing Studios in order to create modern, best-in-class facilities. Built to BREEAM Outstanding certification, it aims to create the first net-zero carbon stage in the UK.
A redeveloped Ealing Studios will also provide economic and cultural benefits to the London Borough of Ealing, in addition to supporting the film and TV industry across London.
The Mishcon de Reya team comprised Anita Rivera, Martyn Hanmore and Roisin Hogan from the Planning team.
