Sustainability Initiative
The Sustainability Initiative is a new category at this year’s Lawyer Awards, highlighting the important work that organisations are undertaking to have a positive impact on the wider world.
Greener Litigation is a collective of solicitors' firms, barristers' chambers and other disputes professionals, convened and chaired by Mishcon de Reya, actively committed to reducing the environmental impact of dispute resolution and litigation conducted in the courts of England and Wales.
The organisations involved are signed up to the Greener Litigation Pledge, a commitment to reduce the environmental impact of dispute resolution. The initiative is also one of the actions set out in Mishcon de Reya’s Climate Change Strategy.

Pro Bono Initiative of the Year
Together with Eversheds Sutherland, Wilsons Solicitors and Garden Court Chambers, Mishcon de Reya has been part of a pro bono initiative to assist members of the Afghan judiciary and legal profession to secure UK visas.
This includes collectively issuing six judicial reviews against the Government to gain visas for female Afghan judges, many of whom have been forced into hiding since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021.
