Mishcon de Reya represented an interested party (the owner and developer of the relevant land) in a judicial review brought against the London Borough of Southwark regarding its decision to grant planning permission for the redevelopment of Dulwich Hamlet's 3,000 capacity Champion Hill Stadium in East Dulwich.
The Claimant made a number of criticisms of the Council's decision-making process, including an assertion that the Council had failed to comply with the public sector equality duty.
Mr Justine Saini dismissed all grounds of the claim and concluded "This was a development of strategic importance to the Greater London Authority and it received substantial and detailed consideration from the Mayor, including in relation to the PSED".
Head of Planning Anita Rivera commented: "We are extremely happy for our client who over the course of 3 years has held steadfast in pursuit of this consent which has rightly been upheld by the Court."
Martyn Hanmore and Rebecca Gough also advised.
