Daniel Naftalin - Mishcon de Reya

Welcome to the latest edition of Executive Matters, our quarterly publication tailored to the challenges and legal issues faced by Senior Executives.

We like to keep things varied for our Senior Executive readership and this edition is no exception, with a range of articles, podcasts, and briefing materials on offer.

In this edition, with Labour's General Election win, we examine their extensive manifesto pledges to change employment law, including their commitment to introduce an Employment Rights Bill within the first 100 days of Government.

We've just held our latest Disputes Nightmare Scenario Flash Webinar, which focused on how to deal with a Founder Director who has gone rogue. The panel explored tricky issues such as the recourse an exited Founder might have, Leaver provisions and restrictive covenants. You'll be able to access a link to the recording of this session shortly.

The Supreme Court's recent judgment in Lifestyle Equities v Ahmed addresses some difficult issues on directors' liability in the context of IP infringement and has been described as a major change in the law.  Our IP Disputes Partner Gareth Dickson discusses the case and its implications.

For the podcasters among you, we invite you to listen to an excellent episode of our Jazz Shapers podcast with Caroline Casey, award-winning social entrepreneur and founder of the Valuable 500, as well as to the latest episode from our Mishcon Innovation Series with Christopher Kahler: Co-founder and CEO of Kinnu, a learning app designed to increase the rate of knowledge acquisition.

Finally, you can access our 'For the Attention of the Board' briefings, giving you concise, actionable insights on critical issues facing those in the Boardroom, such as EDI concerns, sanctions regimes, developing Health & Safety compliance, and the swiftly changing landscape of ESG reporting requirements. You can also do a deeper dive into ESG issues with our ESG for Business Leaders briefings.
