Carol is a Partner in the Private Wealth and Tax group in Mishcon Private, with over 15 years' experience advising on tax, trusts, philanthropy and family governance. While in practice, her particular specialism was advising non-UK residents on their exposure to the UK tax rules, focussing primarily on high and ultra-high net worth individuals and trustees.
She is also Knowledge Lawyer in the Private Wealth and Tax team on all technical, legal, regulatory and policy issues and ensures that the team is kept abreast of the latest legal decisions, HMRC practice and global tax transparency initiatives. Her role encompasses mentoring, training and acting as in-house counsel to the lawyers in the Private Wealth and Tax group. Having previously worked at Barclays Wealth as the sole tax expert for the global Barclays trust business, as well as practising law at other law firms, she provides client-centric guidance to the group on a wide range of technical issues.
Carol is also a governor at a local primary school and a Social Mobility Ambassador for the Law Society, regularly talking to schools and universities about a career in law. She is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners and a Notary Public.
