Julien is an Associate in the banking and finance team which is regularly instructed on a mix of commercial and private real estate, corporate finance and consumer lending transactions, often involving multi-jurisdictional aspects.
He acts for a variety of clients including clearing banks, alternative lenders, bridging lenders, private (including foreign) banks, Islamic banks, asset management firms, corporate borrower entities across a number of sectors (private and commercial real estate, commercial offices, PBSA, hotels, health care, sports etc) and (ultra and) high-net worth individuals.
Julien has particular experience in:
- commercial and private real estate transactions, including acquisitions, developments and structured financings including senior and mezzanine debt;
- Islamic financings;
- corporate acquisitions, sales and restructurings;
- advising on debt/financing aspects in distressed scenarios, including restructurings and administrative sales/purchases;
- advising ultra-high net worth individuals on private loan and security arrangements, including on regulatory aspects; and
- advising private banks on corporate and consumer lending transactions, with a particular focus on advising Swiss private banks.
Julien is a Swiss national and fluent French speaker and is regularly instructed to act on transactions with multi-jurisdictional aspects.

- Acting for asset manager on a £35m acquisition and hotel development financing in prime location, central London.
- Advising syndicate of lenders on a circa $400m refinancing of a trading corporate group operating worldwide.
- Acting for Luxembourg-incorporated sponsor on a €29m facility to finance the development of a luxury hotel located in Mallorca, Spain.
- Acting for buyer in administration sale of group operating commercial offices across City of London.
- Advising sponsor in a £60m senior notes issue for the purpose of financing a series of acquisitions, followed by a debt for equity swap with the original lender.
- Advising lender on provision of a term loan facility to an Isle of Man based borrower for the purpose of acquiring a manufacturing site in Scotland.
