Nick is a Partner in the Real Estate department. He specialises in commercial real estate work, dealing with investment (including corporate real estate) acquisitions and sales for institutional and private clients, development work, management work and acting for both landlords and tenants. Alongside his commercial real estate work, Nick is responsible for researching new technologies, including software which utilises machine learning and AI to extract data from documents.
Nick is a mentor for the start-ups taking part in MDR LAB and is the Firm's Head of PropTech. As part of this role, he has built technology products which help automate and streamline tasks and co-founded a commercial property start-up, Least. In 2019, Nick was named as one of the top 10 most innovative lawyers in Europe by the Financial Times.
Nick also collaborated with HM Land Registry on their Digital Street research and development initiative to complete the UK's first successful digitised end-to-end residential property transaction, and is working with a number of clients to facilitate the automatic exchange of property data.

- Advising Brookfield on its acquisition of a 50% stake in Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire from U+I Group and Harwell Oxford Partners. Harwell Campus is a science and research development that is closely linked to the University of Oxford in a formal partnership for discovery and innovation.
- Advising Brookfield on the real estate aspects of the acquisition of its Atom portfolio.
- Advising a global real estate fund on the acquisition, development and letting of a new life sciences real estate facility in Stevenage. The pharmaceutical facility is let to biopharmaceutical company Autolus Therapeutics on a 20-year lease.
- Advising a global real estate fund on the acquisition, development and letting of a town centre life sciences facility in the south-east of England. Once completed, this facility will make available world leading laboratory and manufacturing space to SMEs on a short-term basis to encourage growth and development.
- Advised a life sciences fund on the acquisition of surplus development land in Stevenage (as which sits adjacent to GSK’s R&D hub, to create a combined campus of 2.5 million sq. ft of office, laboratory and GMP facilities. The new life sciences campus will be one of the largest of its kind in the UK and Europe.
- Advising AEW UK 's funds including the Core, AEW UK Impact Fund, REIT and Urban Regeneration Fund across all aspects of investment, leading and development .
- Acting for AEW on the sale of Bath Road Slough and the acquisition and development of multiple logistics facilities.
- Advising a life science fund on the purchase and development funding of a life science facility with significant elements of off-site modular construction and the purchase, development and leasing of a new GMP facility in Hertfordshire and 3 development sites in Oxford and Cambridge.
