We represented the successful claimants in the milestone case both at first instance and in the Court of Appeal in AssetCo PLC v Grant Thornton UK LLP. This was one of the largest court-ordered awards in the UK in respect of an auditors’ negligence claim and is one of the leading cases on the recovery of losses caused by an auditors’ failure to detect fraud. We also represented the liquidators of Patisserie Holdings PLC and its subsidiaries in their claim for c £200 million against Grant Thornton UK LLP, and the Joint Administrators of London & Capital Finance Plc in their claims for c £200m against PwC and EY.
Through our Hong Kong office, we have been involved in many of the high profile financial collapses and audit negligence actions across the Aisa Pacific region and beyond, including representing the Government of Malaysia in its audit negligence actions against two Big 4 firms arising out of the audits of 1MDB.
