The 2023 Report: Resilience in a challenging year
2023 was a year of resilience and success for us in the face of a global downturn in funding, driven by high interest rates and a subdued stock market. However, it continued to be a period of innovation across sectors, from emerging digital startups to healthtech spin-outs.
In total, we advised on 172 venture capital equity funding rounds, with our involvement in investments reaching a figure of over £500 million. While this was a decrease from the previous year's figure, it represents a significant achievement under the prevailing economic conditions.
Looking to the future
An increase in funds raised towards the end of 2023 suggests a more favourable climate for investors and provides a positive indication for the year ahead.
