Following the Labour Party's victory in the general election, the UK's legal sector is anticipating the new Government's stance on maintaining the country's status as a premier disputes centre.
Leah Alpren-Waterman, Of Counsel and Knowledge Lawyer at Mishcon de Reya, commented on the potential direction Labour might take regarding arbitration.
She said: "The [Arbitration] bill had broad cross-party support, so I think it is likely that it will be resurrected if Labour win the election. However, there will be a lot on the new government's agenda, so it might not be a priority."
