Mishcon de Reya announces fee earner promotions

27 promoted to Equity Partner or Junior Equity Partner 

Mishcon de Reya has today announced that 16 individuals have been promoted to Equity Partner and 11 people have been promoted to Junior Equity Partner in the firm's latest round of promotions. 

A further 13 people have been promoted to Legal Director while four have been made Of Counsel. The firm also announced that 31 people have been promoted to Managing Associate. 

Commenting on the news, Managing Partner James Libson said:  

"Our fee earner promotions round is always such a special moment in the calendar and it is a pleasure to welcome these people to the partnership of the firm. We are fortunate to have such amazing talent at the firm across all levels and departments, and I look forward to seeing this year's cohort go from strength to strength.” 

The Partner promotions are: 

Equity Partner  

Antonia Felix 

Antonia Felix trained at the firm and is now a Partner in the Family team and head of the Surrogacy and Modern Families group. She specialises in all aspects of family law with a particular emphasis on complex financial remedy cases often involving assets in different jurisdictions and complicated trust structures. Antonia also advises on cohabitation disputes and private law children matters, including applications for leave to remove children from the jurisdiction and surrogacy.   

Charlotte Wilson 

Charlotte is a Partner in the Financial Services, Funds and Asset Management Group, specialising in financial services regulation and is co-head of the fintech group. Her diverse practice involves advising clients on regulatory compliance, transactional matters, structuring, governance, and commercial partnerships. Charlotte also has an in-depth understanding of fund formation matters, allowing her to provide complex regulatory advice in that context. 

Gareth Minty 

Gareth Minty is a Partner in the Fraud Group and specialises in advising clients who have been the victim of crime and who are seeking redress, whether directly in the form of a private prosecution or as a result of criminal proceedings brought by the state authorities.  

Gwen Ballin-Reeler 

Gwen is a Partner in the Competition group in the Innovation department. She has a broad competition practice, advising clients on transactional matters (multijurisdictional merger control and FDI notifications) and in relation to the full range of anticompetitive behaviours (abuse of dominance, cartels, and other anticompetitive agreements) in the context of compliance, complaints or investigations. Gwen also has extensive competition litigation experience.  

Henrietta Garner 

Henrietta is a Partner in the Real Estate department. She specialises in commercial property work and advises clients on a range of issues including: the acquisition and disposal of investment property; lease negotiations on behalf of landlords and tenants; asset management matters for landlords of office, industrial and retail premises; and real estate support for corporate transactions.  

Hugo Christie 

Hugo is a Partner in the Technology group in the Innovation department. He specialises in negotiating complex, and often international, technology transactions. He has a particular focus on FinTech where he, typically, advises and supports sell-side technology companies provisioning their products and services on a global and enterprise basis to highly regulated financial institutions (including Global Tier 1 and 2 Banks, PE Houses, Hedge Funds and Insurers). 

Kate Higgins 

Kate leads the Knowledge Lawyer function at Mishcon and is responsible for developing and delivering the firm's knowledge management strategy. Her role is pivotal to the firm's commitment to excellence and investment in a strong knowledge focused service to the firm's lawyers and clients. In addition to knowledge management expertise, Kate has over 30 years’ experience of advising on corporate law and corporate transactions for private and public companies and is an expert on corporate governance. 

Katie Mahoney 

Katie is a Partner in the Employment department. She advises on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, but she is particularly well known for her expertise in High Court litigation (especially in relation to team moves, protection of confidential information and bonus disputes). Bringing a commercial and practical approach to employment issues faced by clients, Katie supports both employers and employees on all issues arising in the workplace.  

Katy Colton 

Katy is a Partner in Mishcon Private and Head of the Politics and Law Group. She specialises in political disputes, public law, and commercial litigation predominantly for individuals and their businesses and families. Katy's breadth of experience ensures that she is well-placed to devise creative solutions to meet the needs of private clients in their wider personal, political and business lives.  

Laura Odlind 

Laura is a Partner in the Real Estate Dispute Resolution group. She is an experienced property litigator and assists clients with a wide range of contentious issues relating to freehold and leasehold property. Laura is the main point of contact for private individuals and also acts for landed estates, significant property-owning companies, large corporate occupiers and retailers.  

Laura Penny 

Laura is a Partner in the firm's Employment Department. Laura advises on a full range of employment law matters from day-to-day advisory to contentious litigation. Laura regularly works with employers and employees in the financial sector, particularly in relation to investigatory and disciplinary matters involving compliance and FCA regulatory issues. Her clients also include LLPs and luxury brand businesses.    

Michael Frost 

Michael is a Partner in Mishcon Private. He advises on the full spectrum of reputation protection and crisis management issues across a range of industry sectors. He acts for individuals and organisations in respect of defamation, misuse of private information, data protection, harassment, obtaining and defending injunctions, and contempt of court.   

Nick Dent 

Nick is a Partner in the White Collar Crime & Investigations Group. He has significant experience representing individuals suspected of having committed serious and general criminal offences in investigations conducted by the Police, the Serious Fraud Office, the Financial Conduct Authority and other agencies. 

Nina O'Sullivan 

Nina O'Sullivan is a Partner and Head Knowledge Lawyer in the Innovation Department focusing on Intellectual Property and Data Protection. She has extensive experience of intellectual property (IP) litigation and protection, data protection and related fields, and has a particular interest in the life sciences, TMT, betting & gaming, and retail & luxury sectors.  

Peter Nunn 

Peter is a Partner in intellectual property, sports and commercial disputes. He advises on all forms of intellectual property disputes, including trade mark, designs, copyright, patents, database rights and trade secrets. Peter combines this with his expertise in licensing, contractual and tortious disputes, enabling him to advise on a wide variety of claims, assessing all possible angles.  

Shona Coffer 

Shona is a Partner in the Private Commercial Litigation team. She is an experienced commercial litigator, with a background in corporate disputes and civil fraud. Her practice centres on corporate and business disputes, acting for international and domestic corporates, individual shareholders/directors, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals. Shona has expertise in High Court and international arbitral trials, as well as expert determination and alternative dispute resolution. 

Junior Equity Partner 

Alice Burlingham 

Alice is a Partner in the Real Estate department, specialising in commercial property, with extensive experience of dealing with acquisitions and disposals of investment property, development and financing. More recently she has been actively involved in a number of life science transactions and associated development work. In addition, she has a wide range of experience of asset management matters acting for both landlords and tenants in relation to office, retail and industrial units.  

Clare Radcliffe 

Clare is a Partner in the firm's Family team. She trained at the Firm and has over ten years' experience advising clients. She specialises in all aspects of the divorce process and relationship breakdown. She has a focus on providing strategic solutions on complex cases involving jurisdictional disputes, trust and corporate structures and non-disclosure. She has acted for a range of high profile and high net worth clients, entrepreneurs and those with inherited wealth.  Clare also advises clients in relation to all private law children matters and applications for leave to remove children from the jurisdiction. Clare also regularly deals with pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and co-habitation agreements.    

Dan Sinclair 

Dan is in the Innovation department and plays a central role in leading the firm’s Innovation Economy growth strategy. Dan oversees a series of initiatives and investment strategies designed to support the firm’s fast growth technology clients, including MDR Lab and Mishcon PLUS.  Dan also leads the firm's engagement with the wider innovation ecosystem and manages a number of key strategic partnerships. 

David Deane 

David is a Partner in the Immigration team within Mishcon Private. Having trained and qualified at the firm, David has 10 years’ experience in advising clients on their immigration needs. David has expertise in providing strategic, practical and commercial solutions for his clients, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurial wealth.  David specialises in complex applications, paying particular attention to British naturalisation applications, especially those that require exceptional consideration.  

Dominic Wrench  

Dominic is a Partner in MDR ONE – a provider of centralised global employment law support. He is an experienced international employment lawyer who advises multinational corporations across all of MDR ONE’s core service lines, with a primary focus on medium and long-term advisory projects, from cross-border M&A activity to workforce transformation initiatives. 

Emily Knight 

Emily Knight is a Partner in the Employment team, where she advises employers and senior executives on all issues which arise during the employment life cycle. Emily specialises in steering clients through high-stakes situations, such as workplace investigations, team moves, negotiated exits and partnership matters. Her expertise also covers managing complex litigation in the Employment Tribunal and High Court.  

Lizzie Wilson* 

Lizzie is part of the Corporate Technology department. Her practice encompasses a wide array of corporate matters, both transactional and advisory, ensuring clients receive top-tier legal guidance tailored to their unique needs. 

* Lizzie’s promotion will be effective upon her return from maternity leave 

Lydia Kellett 

Lydia is a Partner in the Corporate department. She has extensive experience in transactional and advisory work alike and specialises in advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, structuring matters and reorganisations.  

Sabrina Furneaux-Gotch 

Sabrina is a Partner in the Real Estate Litigation department, specialising in property disputes. Sabrina acts on a wide range of property matters concerning all types of property interests and acting for a range of clients including significant property owning companies and high net worth individuals. Sabrina regularly acts in legally complex and high value disputes.  

Stuart Lester 

Stuart Lester is a Partner in the Intellectual Property team and leads the firm's Advertising & Marketing group. He focuses on all aspects of IP and brand protection, offering strategic IP advice on trade marks, passing off, copyright and designs. His practice encompasses clearance, filing, monitoring, enforcement, and portfolio management. In the field of advertising law, Stuart provides brands with clearance advice on legal and regulatory issues related to advertising and sales promotion campaigns in the UK and internationally. 

Tom Middleton 

Tom is a Partner in the Real Estate department, specialising in commercial real estate. He has extensive expertise in advising on high-value acquisitions and disposals, as well as significant development projects. He has particular expertise advising lenders and institutional funds on investment and development matters across different sectors of the real estate market, including office, retail, logistics, build-to-rent, and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA). In addition, Tom has a comprehensive background in asset management, representing both landlords and tenants across office, retail, and industrial units.
