Emily is an Associate in the Data team within the firm's Innovation department. She advises start-ups, SMEs and multi-nationals on all matters relating to data protection and privacy, with a particular focus on data protection compliance projects.
Emily is a lead contact for the Firm's outsourced Data Protection Officer, Assign EU Representative service and DSAR support offerings.
Key Experience
- Compliance projects: Scoping and delivering long-term data protection compliance projects covering all agreements, policies, procedures and training required to operate compliantly and to evidence this compliance.
- Data protection & privacy advice: Advice on complex international transfers, controller and processor obligations, and the anonymisation of clinical data for life-sciences and digital health clients.
- Impact Assessments: Carrying out data protection and artificial intelligence impact assessments for high risk processing activities.
- Data subject rights requests: Compliance with data subject access and erasure requests from acknowledgement, carrying out searches and reviews, all the way through to disclosure.
- Data breaches: Advising on addressing data breaches including liaising with suppliers, issuing communications to data subjects and reporting to the regulator.
