Matt is an Associate in the Insolvency & Restructuring Litigation team, which forms part of the wider Dispute Resolution department. He specialises in insolvency litigation and regularly acts on behalf of insolvency practitioners, companies, directors and creditors on disputes arising in the context of financial distress and insolvency (e.g. claims brought by and against officeholders, asset recovery, guarantee disputes, directors' duties, transaction avoidance and disqualification proceedings).
He has experience of working on complex, multi-million-pound claims for high-profile clients.
Key experince
- Acting for the administrators of Force India in the successful defence of a personal negligence claim against the administrators. The case concerned duties of administrators to bidders when running a sales process (Uralkali v Rowley [2020]).
- Acting for the Administrators of London Capital & Finance PLC (investigating the collapse of LCF in circumstances where it owes creditors in excess of £230million).
