Steven is a Partner in the Corporate department, specialising in Private Investment Funds.
He is experienced in advising both global asset managers and first-time managers on the structuring and formation of private investment funds across alternative asset classes, including direct lending, credit, private equity and private equity secondaries, as well as infrastructure, real estate and healthcare funds. His experience also includes advising institutional investors on their private fund investments and has represented them in transactions involving the sale of portfolios of fund interests, secondary market deals, and co-investments.
Key Experience
Steven's experience includes advising:
- a UK fund manager on the launch of a UK focussed medtech investment fund;
- a US credit fund manager on the set-up of an investment level UK direct lending platform for its US credit funds business;
- a global Swiss Alternatives Asset Manager on the proposed establishment of a global carried interest programme;
- a Special Situations US Asset Manager in its role as replacement GP in a private equity fund;
- a Special Situations US Asset Manager on its spin out from a global consulting firm;
- first time newly formed UK fund manager formed by former senior portfolio managers of a Global Asset Manager, on the formation of a UK commercial real estate fund;
- a Global Asset Management arm of a major international Global Bank on a number of co-investments and fund investments;
- a UK family office on first time investment in a private equity fund;
- a Global credit fund manager on the establishment of a European Direct Lending Fund and a UK Direct Lending Fund
- a Global Asset Management arm of a multi-national insurance company on the establishment of a GBP 500m+ alternative income solutions fund;
- a private bank on the establishment of two credit funds.
