Fiona Lewsey

Senior Counsel

Personal Profile

Fiona is Senior Counsel in the Private Tax and Wealth Planning team. She advises on: estate and succession planning; Will drafting; probates, including sealing foreign grants; powers of attorney; and trust creation and administration.

Fiona's particular focus is on advising UK based professionals, especially partners of the Big Four accountancy firms and leading law firms, people working in private equity and banking, and business owners.

Fiona is experienced in advising on complex estates, many of which include assets in numerous jurisdictions. The structures are clear and tailored, with flexibility built in where desired to allow for a change in circumstances.

Fiona's expertise is consistently recognised in legal directories, most recently in the 2023 Legal 500 as a "Rising Star" and described as "a fantastic lawyer, and also a pleasure to work with. Her knowledge of the relevant law is excellent, she explains technical material very clearly, and she has a real empathy for me and my family."

  • Preparing financial decisions and health and care Lasting Powers of Attorneys and advising attorneys on their role
  • Acting for executors where multiple jurisdictions are involved (including coordinating cross-border advice) and advising on the estate's UK inheritance tax and reliefs
