Mishcon de Reya is a founding member of London International Disputes Week (LIDW), a collaboration of over 50 leading law firms, barristers’ chambers, experts, academics, legal commentators and dispute resolution organisations, with the inaugural event set to take place between 7-10 May 2019. The event will explore the future of dispute resolution and celebrate the heritage of London as a centre for handling disputes through a programme of interactive sessions. Spanning four days, LIDW comprises a 1-day conference at the National Gallery and 18 sessions on different types of disputes and forms of dispute resolution.
Mishcon will host a session on Competition Disputes on 10 May from 15:00 – 16:30, with Sir Peter Roth, President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal, giving the keynote address. The panel, moderated by Competition Partner Sarah Houghton and comprised of Nicholas Heaton of Hogan Lovells, Mark Hoskins QC of Brick Court Chambers, Andrew Hockley of Bryan Cave and Derek Spitz of One Essex Court, will reflect on the heritage of London as a leading centre for competition disputes and analyse the potential impact of Brexit. The session will be followed by a canapé and drinks reception.
Elsewhere across the event, Partner Nicola Bridge will moderate a panel on the session entitled Issues in Commercial Litigation taking place on 9 May, and Partner David Rose will speak at the Intellectual Property Disputes and Life Sciences Disputes session on 10 May.
